    Professional Development

Faculty district-wide have already been trained in the use of the district's E-mail system by the technology coordinator. Written tutorials Refresher training will be provided if requested, and training for new teachers will be provided as part of the induction plan.

Professional development will be provided by the technology coordinator for faculty and administrators in the maintenance of website content when the new content management system is complete. Middle school teachers have already been trained in maintaining the current site. This training will happen after the content management system is setup in the summer of 2006; training will be complete by January 2007.

Team collaboration sites are already in use in the district. Professional development has been conducted thus far via written tutorials prepared by the technology coordinator and posted on the Intranet site. As these sites become more widely used, professional development may become a topic of the monthly technology training series conducted by the technology coordinator.

Professional development in the use of the home access center will be provided to faculty by Sungard Pentamation initially in the summer of 2006 to teachers via the train-the-trainer model. In the fall of 2006 through the spring of 2007, teacher trainers will train the remainder of the faculty. Training will be repeated as necessary by teacher trainers and the technology coordinator, particularly for new teachers as part of the induction plan.

Home Access Center training for parents will be conducted by building principals and teachers with the assistance of the technology coordinator. These sessions will begin in the second half of the 2006-2007 school year; they will be repeated as necessary until all of the parents who wish to receive training receive it.

    Monitoring/Evaluation

E-mail traffic, web server traffic, and use of the Home Access Center are constantly monitored by the technology staff via built-in processes on the servers. These logs are reviewed daily and comparisons are made during technology planning. Increased traffic would necessarily mean increased use.
