    Professional Development

Office suite training for employees will be conducted by the district technology coordinator as part of the monthly technology training offering. As usual, this will be supplemented by written tutorials posted on the district's Intranet site; it may eventually be supplemented by the interactive training on the Intranet as well. In addition, MOUS teachers will eventually serve as resources to employees in the use of office suite software.

Employees are currently mastering the E-mail section of the district's groupware suite. The technology coordinator will provide training in the additional modules as part of the monthly technology training series, one module at a time. The training will be repeated upon request. It will also be repeated for new employees upon hire.

The district technology coordinator has already provided instruction to many employees in the use of network-managed computer systems in the buildings in which they have been configured thusly. Written tutorials have also been made available on the district's Intranet site. This professional development will be offered in each building upon the reconfiguration of its computers as network-managed systems. The training will also be offered for new employees as needed.

Team collaboration sites are already in use in the district. Professional development has been conducted thus far via written tutorials prepared by the technology coordinator and posted on the Intranet site. As these sites become more widely used, professional development may become a topic of the monthly technology training series conducted by the technology coordinator.

    Monitoring/Evaluation

This goal will be monitored by the technology coordinator reviewing shared data storage areas. The population of shared folders with files, the filling of the groupware database with shared appointments and contacts, and the entry of items into team collaboration sites will all serve as indicators of progress toward this goal. The technology coordinator will review this information monthly.
